Be the best version of your bitchy self

Some time ago (a year and a half, I think) I've read very interesting article. To be clear, it was really a rant demystifying one of those shitty Monroe quotes which are giving numerous batallions of spoiled brats an excellent excuse to do whatever pleases them in the name of being oneselves plus free plus whatever. I knew all of it but shrugged every time when I read anywhere: if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. Until today. Because today I went on Goodreads to add one quote. And I scrolled through the most popular aphorisms. And somewhere between To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment and Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do, I snapped. There is one vital yet fairly simple truth: everything can be misused and misunderstood. I can't read Don't change while I know what it would mean to people around me if I were myself in that straightforward way. And that's what that blog is going to be about: doubtful murderer reading It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not.
